VOCAL TEACHER / MENTOR (casual, up to 20 hours per week)

What we offer:

Mustud hires extraordinary individuals who love what they do. Our team culture is supportive, empowering and inspiring. We like to think of Mustud as a stage for you to do what you love, to achieve your goals and follow your chosen career path. We love coming to work every day and you will too! We value our collaborative team and our mission to provide a music education to our community. We are growing bigger and better every year. We are looking for people who want to grow with us and we want to help you grow too.

Our Hawthorn studio is warm, inviting and relaxed. We have plants, we have a coffee machine, we have free wifi. HQ is sitting sweetly above a Wine Bar.

Who you are:

You are the secret weapon at karaoke, the one who not only knows all the words to every single song on the radio, but somehow also sings along in harmony? Music is your life, singing is your passion, and you want to show everyone how with just a little bit of breathing and training, a voice can transform into an instrument.

You don’t need to have any formal training (hey, sometimes you can’t teach this stuff!), but we’d love if you do come from a musical background, or have some experience teaching music/voice in some capacity. Our school caters to a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds and you need to be able to approach everyone in a way that works for them. Ideally, you have musical theory knowledge and can play a bit of piano/guitar to accompany your students.

You are happy to work evenings or the occasional Saturday, and be available to help with our extra-curricular concerts and events. You’re comfortable with casual hours and looking to grow our community - we have the space and the singers to fill your calendar if you have the time!

You value education and are inspired to help us positively impact the lives of young (and not so young) people through your work. You are an individual with a voice, and support others being themselves and having a voice too - we have a firm No Dickhead policy. You're ready to work somewhere that genuinely acknowledges and appreciates your skills and your hard work.
